Lula Prepares for Her Eight Rounds of Radiation Treatment

Today's Lula update, shared by a good family friend of the Coe family, Monique:

"Lula had to get fitted for her "radiation suit" today for the radiation treatments scheduled in the next weeks... and she is smiling as always! She feels good, and Kat says her numbers have been good, so everyone is feeling very thankful for that despite wishing the radiation wasn't necessary. They are settling back into routines again, and Kat was baking cookies this afternoon.  In the meantime, Lula seems to be so content just being home with her family!!!!"

We will not cease in praying for you sweet Lula Coe!

Clif Bar: Robie's Got Faith's Refuel Snack of Choice!

Lula to Receive Eight Focalized Radiation Treatments

An update today from Lula's Mom:

"Lu's been home for almost two weeks now and she's feeling great. We met with the radiation oncologist and the docs have decided that the girl will get another eight radiation treatments. These will be focalized and should not make her sick. She'll get all eight treatments in a row, with a break for the weekend. I think we start next week. She's spending tonight at her daddy's and then the boys will join her there for the weekend. They'll be home on Sunday night.

She is so full of spunk and sass and feeling so good!"

Faith Has Registered for Robie's Got Faith 2013!

Faith hanging out with the BSU Football players at
Robie's Got Faith 2012
We are proud to announce that we have received registration from Faith's family for Robie's Got Faith 2013.  It appears, as long as Faith is healthy enough and gets the "OK" to travel from her doctor, that she will be a part of the Robie's Got Faith events on April 20th and 21st, to help in supporting Lula and her family in their fight against cancer.

This is such exciting news, and we are hoping and praying that Faith's health is such that she can be a part of the events, and be here to meet Lula.  Faith has told her parents that she really wants to hand out water at the aid stations during the Robie's Got Faith race events on Sunday the 21st.  As far as Robie's Got Faith is concerned, she and Lula can do whatever they want that weekend.  It's all about them!

If you have not yet registered for Robie's Got Faith, we encourage you to REGISTER NOW.  You will not want to miss out on the special events we have planned for that weekend!  It's something fun that your whole family can do together, as you honor both of these little girls, and help in providing financial support to Lula and her family as Lula fights Stage IV Wilms Cancer.  Thanks to our corporate sponsors covering initial costs, 100% of your registration dollars go directly to assisting Lula and her family with medical-related expenses.

One important note:  To be sure that you have your official Robie's Got Faith shirt by race day, your registration must be received no later than Friday, March 29th!  So, don't delay, REGISTER today!

Faith Goes to Disney World!

Bright and early on Sunday morning, Make-A-Wish picked Faith and her family up in a stretch limo, and took them to the Portland Airport, where they boarded a plane headed for Disney World in Orlando, FL.  Upon arrival, Faith and her family checked into the resort that Make-A-Wish operates for its guests.  Rumor has it, at this special Make-A-Wish resort, kids can have ice cream WHENEVER they want (Faith's brother, Will, was especially excited about this luxury)!

This morning, before leaving for the Magic Kingdom, Mickey Mouse showed up at the Make-A-Wish resort to personally meet Faith, one-on-one, and give her personal introduction to Disney World.  Following this very special meeting, Faith and her family were then escorted to the Magic Kingdom.  Faith's mom has reported that (so far) Faith's favorite ride is Thunder Mountain.  But, that may change, as her week of wishes and dreams coming true, has only just begun!

We love you Faith, and are so happy for all of the dreams and wishes that are coming true for you this week!  God bless the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and all of the individuals who are playing a part in making all of this happen this week for this very special little girl!

It's a Good News Weekend for Faith and Lula

As most of you know, Faith got the thumbs up from her doctors to go forward with her trip to Disney World this weekend, which was her wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  We are thankful to Make-A-Wish, and are very excited for all of the well-deserved and long overdue fun and smiles that Faith and her family have in front of them for the week ahead.

Also, we learned today from Lula's mom, that she got some good news from her doctors, too.  Here's what Lula's mom has to say:

"Lu's counts are doing great! Her platelets are a little low, but they are above the transfusion level & coming up on their own. The scans showed 5 visible lesions in her lungs - but they are all either stable or smaller than they were on the scans in December. This is good news, considering she hasn't had any chemotherapy for a month. Doc wants us to meet with the radiation doc (we call him Doctor Picard) and discuss focalized radiation (treating the specific spots, rather than the entire lung area).

New scans again in a month. Here's hoping we stay in the no-grow zone. If we do, doc is willing to take out the girl's line so that she can have a swimmy summer. She still won't be able to return to school until the fall - but I guess that will give us time to try and play catch up? :) Thank you all for your love & support!"

Good news for both girls this weekend.  We thank God for His hand on these girls' lives, and thank all of you for your continued thoughts and prayers for both of them.  Thank you!

Faith Gets Released to Go Visit Mickey Mouse in Florida!

Disney World, here...she...COMES!!!! All of Faith's counts look great, and her ANC is at 1600!!! Her doctor released her to go to Florida this Sunday with her family. Maintenance is going smoothly. Thank you all so much for your prayers today!!!!!

Pray for Faith Today, Please!

Please keep Faith in your prayers today as she goes in to the clinic to check numbers to see if she gets clearance to take her "Make a Wish" trip to Disney World next week. Her family needs this trip so badly in an effort to help regain a small part of Faith's childhood that has been taken way during this battle.

Lula Returns to Her Home in Boise

Lula overcome with emotion upon her return to her home here in Boise.
We thank God...Lula is home-sweet-home!  WELCOME HOME, LULA! We ask everyone to please be praying continually for improvements to be seen in the CT scans that Lula will be taking in the few short weeks ahead.  We're praying for great things from a great God!

Here's an update from Lula's mom this evening:

"We're home! We're home! We stopped at Idaho Power so Lula could give her daddy a squidge, first. She buried her face in his belly and gave him a big hug. Then, we headed home. She got hugs from all the fellas and when she stepped into the house just burst into tears because she is so happy to be home. :)

So, what's next, you wonder? Me too. Here's a bit of an answer.

Thursday morning we will head to St. Luke's for a CT scan. This scan, though it *will* show us if there are any major changes since the transplant, will mostly serve as the baseline for moving forward. We'll have another scan in 4-6 weeks and *that* scan will be the one which tells us what we're looking at, now.

I want to wish and wish that we could just be donedone, but I'm not complaining; I am so happy to be home, surrounded by my wonderful fellas and critters and comforts (not to mention the meal train dinner of lasagna nummyness to which we came home) that you won't hear a moment of whine outta me.

One day at a time, one moment at a time, accepting hardship as a pathway to peace... Can I get an AMEN?"

Thank You to 13th St. Pub and Grill

Without our asking, the 13th St. Pub and Grill in Hyde Park in Boise has, once again, enthusiastically and graciously offered to host our post-race party and silent auction following the Robie's Got Faith events on Sunday, April 21st at 6pm.  We just want to say THANK YOU to Mike, JoJo, Tony, Phil and the rest of the amazing employees at "the Pub" for their compassion and dedication in partnering with Robie's Got Faith, as we raise funds and support for Lula this year, and ensure that she has a BIG smile on her face all weekend long.  For Robie's Got Faith supporters who are planning on dining out in the next week or so, please say thank you to the 13th St. Pub and Grill by giving them your business.  A great restaurant, in a great setting with amazing food at fair prices, and very friendly service.  THANKS again, to our friends at the 13th St. Pub and Grill!

Lula Comes Home to Boise!

A GOOD NEWS Announcement from Lula's Mom:

"WE GET TO GO HOME! The doctors all decided that the girl is doing really well and that there isn't anything they can do for her here that they can't in Boise. I AM SO EXCITED I CAN'T STAND IT!

THANK YOU to Shu's Idaho Running Company!

Without hesitation, Shu's Idaho Running Company has once again stepped along side Robie's Got Faith as a primary 2013 sponsor and supporter of 9-year-old Lula Coe in her fight against Stage IV Wilms Cancer.  We want to take this moment to simply say, THANK YOU, to Mike Shuman, Leone Rusher and all of the great folks at Shu's!  There is no way that Robie's Got Faith would even be possible without all of the support you provide.  We are very grateful! Please support those that support Robie's Got Faith.  When shopping at Shu's you will find that there is no retail business in Boise that provides better, more friendlier, customer service than Shu's.  THANK YOU Mike, Leone and everyone at Shu's Idaho Running Company!

LULA UPDATE (3/3/13) - Out of the Hospital, But Still in Salt Lake City

Lula eating the WHOLE burrito (and keeping it down, finally!)

Lula was released from Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City on Thursday, Feb. 28th.  However, her doctors would like for her to remain within a one-hour drive from the hospital for the next 90-days.  Therefore, Lula and her mom will be staying with Lula's aunt and uncle in Salt Lake City during that time.  Lula and her mom are really missing their family here in Boise.  So, please keep both Lula and mom in your prayers, as they are not only battling cancer together, but are also really struggling with being homesick.

"Lu is doing really well. She's feeling good and eating well and resting nicely. Swallowing all her pills. And yes, in case you were wondering, watching more Twilight.

I am kind of pouty and slightly antagonistic and incredibly homesick. But I'm trying to get over myself. I'd ask you to pray for me, but it'd probably be better if you just prayed for all the people who live with me at this point. :)"
