Important Dates to Circle on Your Calendar!

In April, we will run, walk and stand in honor and support of 9-year-old Michaella "Lula" Coe as she fights Stage IV Wilms Tumors.  Lula is is a beautiful, spunky, always-smiling Boise girl who is fighting Stage IV Wilms Tumors in her lungs. In 2012, Lula endured a full year of chemo, two months of radiation, had one kidney removed and part of her liver taken out. Currently, she's in the midst of a bone marrow transplant at Salt Lake City's Intermountain Primary Children's Medical Center, a process which will take 2-3 months to complete, and obviously keeps Lula in Salt Lake City with her mom, away from her home, school, friends and the rest of her family who remain here in Boise.

As we make preparations to honor, support and bless Lula in 2013, here are some important dates that you will need to save on your calendar, so that you can be a part of this great thing that we will be doing for this brave little girl:

Monday, February 18th at 12pm (MST) - Just like last year, Robie's Got Faith will be assembling a team of runners (and walkers) to run the Race to Robie Creek Half Marathon in honor of Lula.  Last year we had a good-sized group runners who ran the race in honor and support of Faith.  If you have always wanted to conquer the Race to Robie Creek, we invite you to join our team this year and run the race with purpose.  Registration for the Race to Robie Creek takes place online (www.robiecreek.com) on Monday, February 18th at 12pm (MST).  The registration for the race fills up in a matter of minutes, so you must be very quick with your online entry. (Robie's Got Faith is not affiliated, nor has any association, with the Race to Robie Creek TM or the Rocky Canyon Sailtoads TM)

Saturday, April 20th at 12pm (MST) - The Race to Robie Creek Half-Marathon.  This is the day that Team Robie's Got Faith will run the Race to Robie Creek Half-Marathon in honor of Lula.  (Robie's Got Faith is not affiliated, nor has any association, with the Race to Robie Creek TM or the Rocky Canyon Sailtoads TM)

Sunday, April 21st, Afternoon - For those who are not wanting to run the Race to Robie Creek Half-Marathon, we will once again be holding the Robie's Got Faith 10k, 5k and Kid's-Mile-Run the day after the Race to Robie Creek.  This is a great, family-friendly event, which offers races for participants of all ages and ability.  Not a runner or a walker, but still want to participate in Robie's Got Faith?  No problem.  You can still be a part of the event and participate "in spirit" and cheer on your fellow runners and walkers as they cross the finish line

Sunday, April 21st, Evening - Following the Robie's Got Faith races, a post-race-party and silent auction will be held to celebrate Lula and a job well-done.

Whether you're a runner, a walker, a cheerleader or simply want to help and support "in spirit", we ask you to please be a part in Robie's Got Faith 2013, as we stand beside Lula and support her in her fight.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to Email us:  faithful@robiesgotfaith.org.

See you all at the starting line!

P.S. - Stay Tuned - Our Saturday morning run/walk group training sessions will be starting up soon.  Check back here soon for more information.

Robie's Got Faith in 2013!

Robie's Got Faith wants to wish you all a Happy 2013!  We hope that you all had the opportunity to enjoy the holidays and ring in the new year with those you love.  We also want to thank you all, again, for all of the love, support and prayers that you provided Faith and her family all throughout 2012.  All of the support and prayers that you provided, truly made a difference during the past year for this one little girl and her family.

As we enter into 2013, and begin making preparations for this year's events in April, we wanted to take just a moment to provide you with a current update on Faith, and also introduce you to a new beautiful little girl, who Robie's Got Faith will be honoring and raising funds for in 2013.

FAITH

First of all, we ask you to please continue to keep Faith in your prayers. She was scheduled to have treatment this week, but her cell counts were too low. Her parents are thankful that she will now get a break from steroid treatment for a while, as this makes her extremely tired and not herself.

Her mom, Rachel, says that Faith is starting to feel much better this week, and is acting more like her sweet self!

We continue to pray that her cell count rises so that she can stay on course for her treatment schedule.

We love you, Faith!!!

Faith's parents have recently posted a journal update on Faith's CaringBridge website.  If you'd like to read that, and get further updates on Faith and her progress, please CLICK HERE.

MICHAELLA "LULA" COE

Robie's Got Faith proudly introduces you to beautiful, 9-year-old, Lula Coe.  Michaella "Lula" Coe is in the fight of her life. She is a beautiful, spunky, always-smiling Boise girl who is fighting Stage IV Wilms Tumors in her lungs. She's had a wild ride -- a full year of chemo in 2012, two months of radiation, one kidney removed and part of her liver taken out, too. Currently, she's in the midst of a bone marrow transplant process, which only just started on January 2nd.  This bone marrow transplant process takes 2 - 3 months for completion.  During this lengthy process, Lula and her mom will be in Salt Lake City, away from Lula's three brothers, who remain in Boise to attend school.  This is obviously, no doubt, a daunting and challenging scenario for this family.

In honor of Faith and to provide a blessing and support to Lula and her family, as this great community did for Faith in 2012, Robie's Got Faith has selected Lula as its 2013 beneficiary.

As we begin planning and preparing for the Robie's Got Faith events coming up in April, we will be posting more information and making announcements with respect to running and walking training groups, race day and auction details, and ways that you can volunteer, help and support, as we all stand with Lula in her fight in 2013.  So, please be sure to continue to check in at robiesgotfaith.org for updates.  Also, be sure to "like" us on Facebook, as we will also be posting many updates, photos and videos there, as well.

Above all else, we ask you all to continue to keep Faith and Lula in your continual daily thoughts and prayers.  One thing that we all learned in 2012, was how powerful prayer truly is for these children and their families who are fighting day-in and day-out versus this awful disease.

Thank you, all!

FOR FAITH!
